Alex in solo concert at local music festival
On April 5th, Year 11 student and BBC Young Musician finalist Alex Pullen will be performing a solo concert as part of the Amersham Festival of Music. Now no stranger to the big occasion, percussionist Alex is looking forward to the concert at Amersham Free Church where he will be performing pieces from his Young Musician programme. He will be using a five-octave marimba which he was able to purchase following a charity concert in Beaconsfield last year. Just before Christmas, Alex heard that he had been successful in securing the prestigious Andrew Lloyd Webber scholarship to study at Eton College in the Sixth Form. Alex is very sad to be leaving St Clement Danes, but says he could not turn down such an incredible opportunity. The fully funded scholarship is only awarded to one 'outstanding musician' each year and so Alex is understandably proud to have been chosen.
