Language students have fun in Potsdam and Berlin
Eighteen Year 9 and 10 German students from St Clement Danes took part in an exchange trip to Potsdam and Berlin in June. The students enjoyed their visit and wrote the following words about their experience.
"In June we went on the German Exchange Trip. The flight was 2 hours long and it was fun to see our German partners again, as they picked us up from the airport. On the first day we went to Park Sanssouci, which had beautiful architecture and scenery. We went to Berlin twice in the week, and for most it was our first time! We went to our exchange partners' school on the Wednesday: Helmholtz Gymnasium. Luckily, they spoke very good English! Unfortunately, there was perpetual rain and we had to cancel one of our events, but we did go to the Rittersport Chocolate factory, which was really fun and interesting! We also saw the Bridge of Spies (Glienicker Brücke), which was where you crossed the border between East and West during the Cold War. Overall, we had an amazing week and we learnt more German! We really recommend you go on the exchange as it's a great learning experience and most of all, it's so much fun!"
