Year 7 rugby team put up good fight in 7-4 defeat

The experienced St Joan of Arc team were too much for Mr Watkinson’s Year 7 boys rugby team on Saturday morning. The game, which was relocated to the Joan of Arc 3G astroturf pitch, started with Vice-Captain Roraigh Browne ‘optimistic for a St Clement Danes win.’

Joan of Arc began spiritedly, scoring three early points. Each came from Man of the Match Brandon. He then scored his fourth before St Clement Danes’ Callum Scott pounced to make it 4-1.

Roraigh then ran through to make it 4-2 but, an intercepted pass made it 5-1. Unfortunately, it then became one sided when two quick tries got St Joan of Arc 7-1 in front.

St Clement Danes did not give up, though, as Callum Scott and James Hems scored as the final whistle blew. 7-4 was the final score; the team had done themselves proud.
