Bonne Annee from MFL
MFL students have been busy at the start of the spring term with students entering a French model competition, and also making cards to send to their pen pals in France.
The deadline for the French model competition was Monday 15th January, when the staff had a difficult task to judge all the wonderful creations. It was described as model wonderland in the central area of the MFL building, and the high level of creativity involved was truly inspirational. Well done to Molly Murphy in 7 Temple, who received first prize. Due to the high standard of the entries, the French department awarded a total of sixteen prizes, rather than the three prizes originally planned !
In France it is traditional to send “Happy New Year” cards to friends and family members, sending them good wishes for the year ahead. Recycling their Christmas cards, Year 9 students wrote to their pen friends in France, sending them best wishes for the New Year. This was also an opportunity for the students to reflect on and share their own New Year's Resolutions.
