Sports students train in Lanzarote
Forty Year 8, 9 and 10 students and staff visited Club La Santa, Lanzarote during the Easter holidays, to train in preparation for the school's athletics season.
Year 8 student Scarlett Gammell has written a review of her experience on the trip:
Wow. Where do I start! Lanzarote was such an amazing experience for us all. The Club La Santa resort was breathtaking as it had so many sports facilities, including an Olympic style swimming pool, 400m track, and so much more.
The Lanzarote Athletics trip gave us all the opportunity to train using fantastic equipment and training facilities in warm weather for the upcoming athletics season. It also gave us a chance to hang out with friends and make new ones.
In between training, we could enjoy the resort by hanging out at the pool, playing mini golf, paddle boarding, or simply eating ice cream! The resort was far beyond anything I could imagine.
As a very keen athlete, I absolutely loved Lanzarote and I really enjoyed the social side of it too.
Finally, thank you to all the teachers and other athletes for making it such a great trip and I am definitely coming back next year.
