Students already achieving iDEA Digital Enterprise Awards from home!
During the period that students have been studying from home six students have already achieved bronze awards, and an amazing 685 badges have been achieved by students as part of the school's participation in the iDEA programme! A truly stunning effort!
iDEA (The Inspiring Digital Enterprise Award), is an international programme that helps students develop digital, enterprise and employability skills for free. Through a series of online challenges, students can win career-enhancing badges, unlock new opportunities and, ultimately, gain industry-recognised awards that help them stand out from the crowd!
Our students are working towards the bronze and silver awards (followed by gold when released) by gaining points across a range of areas. Participants accrue points by learning about a subject, then completing digital skill challenges to accumulate badges. These skills range from social media to video editing and colour palettes to teamwork. The skills are broadly categorised into Citizen, Worker, Maker, Entrepreneur, Gamer and Independent. Each badge takes a different amount of time, with varying amounts of skill required with rewards ranging from 5 to 20 points. To complete the bronze award, the students need a minimum of 250 points.
Mr Taylor, Computing Subject Leader, congratulated the students on this fantastic effort and hopes this will be a great incentive to the other students that are working towards their first award. Mr Taylor gave some sound advice - 'Just keep working day by day!'
