Year 10s Raise Money for Charity
On Monday 5th September Cameron Traill and Jonny May held what we hope to be the annual St Clement Danes charity football match. It began with an idea that Cameron came up with. The charity we chose to fundraise for was Cancer Research UK, as both of us have had family members that have had battles with cancer. Our original goal was £250, and that even seemed like a stretch, but through the players and their families' generosity we were able to raise a whopping £625, absolutely smashing our goal. We would like to say a huge thank you to Mr Birkett and Mrs May who stayed after school to supervise this event and it was a thrilling game that ended 5-1 to Team Jonny. A big well done to all the players and a special well done to Ollie and Maitham for being crowned players of the match for their stellar performances at centre-back and goalkeeper. Finally, a large thank you to Jack for taking some great videos and photos of the match. Myself and Cameron hope that we can do this match at the end of the year and make it even bigger and even better and let's see if we can raise even more money for UNICEF which will be our next charity. Thank you all for taking the time to read this and thanks to all who donated.
