St Clement Danes Athletes "Best Ever"
St Clement Danes athletes have had the best season in the history of the school as three out of four of their teams topped the Hertfordshire Area A league. Competing against 25 other schools in the girls’ and 23 schools in the boys’ leagues, these wins represent a remarkable achievement. The Under 14 girls won with 288 points, beating Royal Masonic by 11.5 points; the Under 14 boys won with 358 points with Kings Langley in second on 350 points; the Under 16 girls won, beating Haberdashers’ Aske’s Girls by 9 points and the Under 16 boys came third behind Haberdashers’ Aske’s Boys in first and Roundwood Park in second. All four teams will now compete in the County Final on Tuesday 5th July at Jarman Park, Hemel Hempstead, against the best schools from the other half of the county. This is an outstanding result, with points having been accumulated over a series of 6 matches throughout the season. Mr Birkett, Head PE, said “the students’ consistency, commitment and hard work have all paid off. We now hope to follow it up with a League Final victory!”
Good luck to all for the final!
